Once Upon A Time is a game where players get to create their own story by using the cards in their hand that show all the important parts of a fairy tale. One player gets to be the storyteller and tries to create a story using the ingredients in her own hand, guiding the plot toward the ending of her choice. The other players use cards from their hands to stop the person telling the story in hopes of becoming the new person telling the story.
The object of the game Once Upon A Time is for the players to enjoy themselves and tell a good story. The player who uses all the story cards in their hand and guides the plot to their ending wins the game of Once Upon A Time. When the storyteller has played all her Once Upon A Time cards, she can then play her Happy Ever After card to end the story. Provided this brings the story to a sensible and satisfying conclusion, then the game and the story are over, and the player who played her ending card has won.
