Rocks, diamonds, gems - whatever you want to call them, this unique dice game includes 75 bedazzling blue sparkling stones (made from plastic) to play with and invites a very fun atmosphere. Coming in a multi-function tin with a fabric storage bag for the dice, we were really impressed with the contents of this game. The tin lid and bottom both double as gaming components which we thought was very useful. Again, gaming components in Roll 4 Rocks were very well put together.
Next up, game play. Roll 4 Rocks uses 5 dice that are rolled over and over again until a number shows up. Once there is a number, you have that many rolls left. Players try to get certain combinations on the dice that will in turn give them the most rocks. First player to 15 wins. Simple. We really enjoyed this easy little game. In fact, we played it more times than we can remember. We played it with all ages of people even down to five yeas old (maybe the small components forced them to put ages 13+).
Our favorite things - we liked the betting tactic. This helps keep the game interesting and lets everyone be involved more often. We liked the different combinations and the strategy of, "do I keep going or play it safe with what I have?" We already mentioned the use of the game tin and how awesome that was. The last thing that really helped was the cheat sheet card that looks really nice.
In all, if you are looking for a quick, easy to learn and play dice game that relies a lot on luck with just a hint of strategy then Roll 4 Rocks is for you. All kids that we played with were in awe when they saw all those blue rocks. This game has a fun feel to it since you are collecting a very unique game piece instead of a card or generic money. We really liked this game and are so happy we had a chance to play it. Everyone playing will be sure to have a lot of fun.
