Amyitis was the legendary queen of King Nebuchadnezzar and the title character of the hit game Amyitis. In Amyitis, your goal is to create the best gardens and irrigation systems in the whole city of Babylon. While this may be a job that's easy enough to do, you'll soon realize that you're up against some of the best gardeners and workers in the land, all vying with each other to outdo one another and impress the queen.
Amyitis is a game of strategy and enjoyment where construction and trading are the most important factors in winning. Players must think and act wisely to develop the most stunning gardens and have efficient watering systems. The key to winning is to acquire prestige, which is earned by making the right decisions and progressing through the levels of the game.
The game is placed in the 590 BC historic age, when King Nebuchadnezzar marries the beautiful Amyitis, daughter of the King of Media. But Amyitis longs for the green of her homeland, and to please her, Nebuchadnezzar commands the hanging gardens of Babylon to be constructed. This grand project is the setting for the game, where players take on the personas of aristocratic Babylonians who are trying to enhance their position and become more renowned by virtue of their horticultural prowess.
During the game, the players try to build complex gardens and irrigation systems, recruit workers, and exchange goods, all in the hope of attaining the highest prestige. The player who attains the highest prestige at the end of the game wins.
