GAME SUMMARY
Caylus is situated in the Kingdom of France ruled by King Philip the Fair, who has decided to strengthen the kingdom's borders by constructing a new castle. Caylus, in the initial stages of the game, is a small village, but with immense potential. Workers, craftsmen, and master builders soon gather here willing to be a part of the big project. As players of the game, you will be master builders, each of you seeking to contribute to the King's castle and the development of the city around it.

The goal in Caylus is to build the King's castle and form the city as you gain prestige points along the way. The more your contribution to the construction and development of the village, the higher your chances of gaining favor with the King. The game encourages strategic planning and management of resources, and the players compete to become the most influential and respected builder in the kingdom.

As you construct the city, you will need to manage resources with care, oversee laborers, and make strategic decisions in order to win the King's favor. Every action you take can impact your standing in the game, and with every building project, you will draw nearer to securing the King's favor. Competition is fierce, and only the player who earns the most prestige points upon the completion of the castle will emerge victorious.

Caylus is an entertaining and engaging game that brings the medieval France to life. If you are a strategy game player or simply want to try something new, it will give you an experience of building a city and competing that will engage you completely. Play the role of master builder in Caylus, and see how you can outrun your rivals to win the King's favor and the game!

HOW TO WIN
How to Win
The game concludes once the Towers section is complete, which occurs either when the bailiff reaches the Towers count space or when all 14 parts of the Towers have been built. At the end of the game, players add additional points to their accumulated total based on the following: 3 points for each gold cube remaining, 1 point for every 3 cubes remaining (excluding gold cubes), 1 point for every 4 deniers remaining.

The player with the highest total prestige points wins the game. If there is a tie for first place, all players who are tied are declared winners.
