Your mission: farm and irrigate parcels of land growing bamboo. If you happen to have the most points toward the end of the game, then you'll be the winner. Each round, you must watch the weather to see what it will bring. How fast could you grow up the bamboo throughout your plantation before the hungry panda ate whatever was available? In this game, you are leading a mission with the task to cultivate land plots, water, and grow up green, yellow, and pink bamboo. Growth and care have to be directed towards the Emperor's bamboo garden by gaining points through growing the bamboo and attaining objectives. Each player starts with plots of land, a gardener, and a panda.
Players take individual turns in which they can plant bamboo, move the gardener and the panda, or water the bamboo. Points are earned through bamboo growth and completion of objectives, such as specific patterns of bamboo or feeding the panda the right type of bamboo. The game ends at any point when the deck of objectives has been used up or one player has reached such a number of points. The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the game. Takenoko comes with plastic bamboo sections and 28 beautifully illustrated garden plots that combine to create a unique playing experience that change every time to you play. This three-dimensional board game is a wonder to behold as you play your way through approximately 45 minutes of strategic game play.
Immerse yourself in an ancient bamboo forest and grow and quickly as you can. This is a game that should be in your gaming collection, and you will still be having so much fun after years with it.
