Board Game Capital's Review:
(2020-04-01)
Treats And TricksWhat a surprise Treats And Tricks was. With a fairly simple box design we were tricked to think this card game would be a little plain. What a treat it was to find some cute, colorful and awesome looking cards inside! After reading the game rules we were really excited to give it a try and were thrilled at how fun this game is to play. Simple, easy and awesome (not to steal someone else's tag line).

This 52 card game can be played in two different ways: using the treats or tricks as points. We thought the changing Chain of Command was a fun addition and wished there were more cards that did more things. There were some additional rule suggestions that add some fun twists on the game that we really liked as well.

There is strategy on how to manage your three cards you have in your hand. You'll have to play wisely to not waste your best card or give up low cards with high point values. It is strategy that you can use if you want or for younger players they can ignore and still play. We preferred to play with 3-4 players since we felt this gave the game more oomph. Two players was a little more dry compared to the larger group.

Treats And TricksQuality of the game is normal. Cards were normal thickness. The storage box left a little to be desired although this might have only been on the prototype we received. Rules are well written and easy to understand. The pictures helped a lot which we like to see. Everyone fell in love with the nicely done illustrations of the animals. The names were cute as well.

Overall a fun little game. We're proud to have it in our collection and is a game we can pull out and play with someone brand new in under 15 minutes.
