SUMMARY
Truth Be Told introduces a hilarious twist to your gatherings with its revealing and laughter-filled gameplay! In each round, one player takes on the role of the Host, posing a question like, "Truth Be Told, my favorite food is blank." The Host then provides their genuine response, such as "pork rinds." Meanwhile, the other players, posing as the Host, craft bluff answers that resemble what the Host might say - options like "pretzels," "prunes," or "sardines." After collecting all responses, the Host reads them aloud, and players aim to identify the True Answer to earn points. With bluff answers also scoring points, there are multiple paths to victory, ensuring plenty of amusement, snickers, and chuckles throughout the game!

OFFICIAL GAME RULES
Perparation: Distribute a dry-erase marker, a Fill in the Blank Card, and a Paddle to each player, along with a tissue (not provided) for erasing. Record the names of all players on the Scoreboard, and have each player write their name at the top of their Fill in the Blank Card. Place the Truth Be Told Question Cards into the card box. Select a question color to use throughout the game: blue, orange, green, or purple. The choice of color simply divides the questions into categories, with no distinction between them.

Game Play: The player who has had their birthday most recently becomes the Host for the initial round and takes charge of the Scoreboard for that round. The Host selects a Truth Be Told Question Card from the card box and reads aloud the question of the designated color, ensuring to vocalize "blank" where the "______" is indicated. For instance, if the Host is Kelly, she might read, "Truth be told, I love to wear blank."

Privately, the Host writes a genuine response to the question on their Fill in the Blank Card, which becomes the "True Answer." Simultaneously, all other players assume the role of Host and confidentially craft bluff answers to the same question on their Fill in the Blank Cards. The more convincing these bluffs resemble something the Host might say, the more effective they are! Well-executed bluffs earn points.

All players submit their Fill in the Blank Cards face down to the Host. The Host then discreetly combines the True Answer with all the Fill in the Blank Cards, shuffling them together while ensuring there are no exact duplicates.

No identical answers are permitted! The Host carefully examines the Fill in the Blank Cards for any duplicate responses. Should duplicates be found, the Host retains one (at her discretion) and returns the remaining duplicate cards face down to their respective owners. These players are then required to devise new bluff answers and submit them again. In cases where any responses match the True Answer, the Host always retains the True Answer and returns the others to their owners. For example, if three players write "sandals," the Host selects any two of the "sandals" responses and returns those cards to their owners. Subsequently, those two players must devise fresh bluff answers and resubmit their cards to the Host.

Once all answers are distinct, the Host proceeds to recite the entire Truth be Told Question again, and subsequently, reveals each player's response one by one, keeping their identities concealed. Following the reading of all answers, all participants (excluding the Host) cast their votes on which response they believe is the True Answer, inscribing their choice discreetly on their respective Paddles. Players are prohibited from voting for their own answers and must provide specific selections if answers are similar.

Once all votes have been cast, the player to the left of the Host discloses their vote by flipping over their Paddle and vocally declaring their choice. Subsequently, in clockwise order, each remaining player follows suit, revealing their votes one at a time. The Host then unveils the True Answer to the group. While this revelation often sparks lively discussions, players are instructed not to erase their Paddles, and the Host refrains from erasing any Fill in the Blank Cards, as both are utilized for scoring points in the subsequent phase.

The Host holds the responsibility of allocating points and recording them on the Scoreboard. Points are awarded in three ways: Firstly, players earn 1 point for accurately voting for the True Answer. Secondly, the Host earns 1 point for each vote the True Answer garners. Lastly, a player receives 1 point for each vote their bluff answer receives.

Once the scoring process concludes, all Fill in the Blank Cards are returned to their respective owners, and all answers are wiped clean. Similarly, all Paddles are cleared of any markings. The Host then transfers the card box and Scoreboard to the player on their left, who assumes the role of the new Host, marking the commencement of the next round.

The champion is determined by the first player to reach 15 points! In case of any ties, simply play another round to determine the ultimate winner. The player with the highest points at the conclusion of this overtime round is declared the overall winner.

Tips:Before reading the answers aloud, the Host should review all Fill in the Blank responses to avoid any slips that might reveal bluff answers. When playing with a larger group, ensure accurate scoring with these steps: Firstly, after revealing the True Answer, the Host returns all Fill in the Blank Cards to their respective owners. Secondly, players who correctly voted for the True Answer write their names on their Paddles and pass them to the Host. Each name represents a player earning one point. Thirdly, players who incorrectly voted for the True Answer pass their Paddles to the player whose bluff they voted for. The number of Paddles each player receives corresponds to the points they earn.
