In the game of Balloon Cup, players fly their balloons in a series of short balloon flights, or "hops," and each of those hops has colored cubes associated with it. Each player tries to collect enough cubes in one color to take the trophy card in that color. If players find themselves with cubes that aren't useful, they can trade three of them for one that they can use. The first person to get three trophy cards wins; it is absolutely a thrilling rush to the very end!
Each player starts with eight balloon cards in their hand. During the game, players strategically play their balloons either on mountain hops or plain hops. High-valued balloons are best suited for mountain hops, while low-valued balloons should be played on the plains. The challenge lies in managing your cards wisely and anticipating your opponent’s moves to stay ahead in the game.
While players will commonly place their balloons on their side of the hops, such winds change matters. With some guile, players can often play their balloons on their opponent's side and really screw with their plans, adding an interesting layer of strategy as players change with the wind and try to outmaneuver each other.

Players place their balloon cards next to the balloon hop tiles, trying to collect victory cubes in the right colors so they can claim trophy cards. The first player to take 3 of the 5 trophy cards is the Balloon Cup winner!
