In Goa, players play the role of Portuguese merchants controlling the lucrative spice trade route from India to Portugal and back. Each player has a goal to build up his business as soon as possible, building ships, controlling crops, handling taxes, organizing expeditions, building colonies, and spreading those colonies. The player who accumulates the most victory points at the conclusion of the game is the champion, and it is important to win by making strategic decisions and calculated risks.
The game is an adventure and a thriller, with all the players competing against one another to establish the most successful trading company. You will have to focus on spice trading and planned investment of profits earned. But don't count on it to be a breeze—your opponents are ready to do the same, so you must stay in front of everyone if you want to dominate the market.
Of most significance about Goa is maneuvering your business in the ever-changing economic environment. In order to survive and thrive, players will have to make intelligent decisions that will help their business grow. Whether it is expanding their fleet, conducting perilous expeditions, or establishing prosperous colonies, every choice matters in the pursuit of success.
