Bandida is a card game that is similar to the popular game Spades. The objective of the game is to win tricks by playing cards of the same suit as the lead card, and to try to win the number of tricks that were bid before the hand.
The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, with players sitting around a table and facing each other. The cards are dealt clockwise starting with the player to the left of the dealer.
Each player makes a bid, or number of tricks they expect to win, before the hand is played. Bids can range from 0 to 13 tricks. The player to the left of the dealer starts the trick by playing a card of any suit, and the other players must follow suit if possible. If a player cannot follow suit, they can play any card. The highest card of the suit led wins the trick, and the winner of the trick leads the next one.
If a player wins the number of tricks they bid, they score 10 points plus one point for each trick won. If a player does not win the number of tricks they bid, they lose 10 points for each trick they bid. The game continues until one player reaches a set number of points, usually 50 or 100, and that player wins the game.
