Together, the players of Fjords first build the map of the fjords, adding their houses in strategic locations as they build. When the map is complete, the players claim territory, trying to block their opponent from as much as possible, while securing these areas for themselves.

The players of Fjords play 3 rounds with new fjord regions each time. After the third round, the players sum their points for the 3 rounds. The player with the most points is the winner. If the players tie, the player who won 2 rounds is the winner of Fjords.
